Hi

How can I get Eclipse to stop checking/validating code while l'm typing? I am fairly new to Eclipse. I will be coding and then in the middle of coding Eclipse will start doing something (I am guessing its checking the code while I'm entering it) and basically freeze the Eclipse window.

I can do other things on the system so its probably not the system locked up. There is really nothing else going on while Eclipse is open (other than a terminal window or two).

I am running the latest Eclipse, updated, etc. (using CDT plugin for C++) on Ubuntu 8.04.

Does anyone know what Eclipse is doing and is there a way to turn it off?

I think I may have found it. It was "Auto activation". If you are having similar trouble, go into Window --> Preferences then under 'C/C++', expand 'Editor' and click 'Content Assist'. Under the sub-heading 'Auto Activation' unclick the 3 triggers.
