I'm interested in learning Eclipse and what it can do for me.

If I go here....
Eclipse Downloads

I see several download options.

My key interests are.

1. Flex
2. Actionscript
3. PHP
4. .Net
5. Java
6. C

What do I download? I see specific downloads for C or PHP but is there one package that will work for all the above or some? Just want to make sure I'm getting a good start.

One nice thing about how Eclipse is packaged is there is no installation needed. You just unzip the package and run the binary.

So download one of the offerings from the Eclipse Downloads section and try it out. If you want another one, you can download it too and just unzip it to a different location and they will co-exist.

Additionally, you can always add more plugins to any install to get functionality you want. So if you start with Java and find you also want to do web stuff, you can go to the "Software Updates" manager through the "Help" menu and install any web-related plugin that interests you. Note: if you're behind a proxy make sure you edit your proxy settings in "Preferences" before trying to access "Software Updates".
