I need a plugin that will allow me to monitor a log file on a remote server. Currently there is telnet and ftp access to the server so a plugin that made use of one of these protocols would be easiest. I could also setup some kind of log relay server on the remote server if required.

Is there a plugin that will do this?

I tried NTail but it only shows a blank window with no functionality (in Ganymede M5).

I've also installed the Ganymede Log4J View plugin (into Ganymede M5). It has this seting

log4j.appender.CHAINSAW_CLIENT.RemoteHost=localhos t

which looks like it will access a remote server, but its not clear what I need to do to get the remote server to work with the Ganymede plugin.
