Default BIRT Chart scaling issue - 11-16-2009, 04:40 PM

I use scripteddatasource and in my rptdesign, the scale for y axis is set to AUTO. It works most of the time, but I have this special case, when all of my values in y axis are between 0 and -1.2%. In this case, the y axis scale ranges from 0 to -100% making the actual chart squeezed and so unusable.

I think this is related to all values being less than or equal to zero. I have another chart where the values range from -0.3 to +0.3% and it works fine.

Is there any workaround for this? Any help is greatly appreicated.

Thanks,

- Raja.

This seems like a bug in BIRT. I was able to solve this, by specifying step number, i.e number of steps to use in my axis. This is not bad since I didn't have to hard code min/max in the axis and my chart is still dynamic. This solved the auto scaling issue.
