Default customizing line number - 12-14-2008, 10:35 AM

Hi, I am new to eclipse, I check the eclipse platform against requirements for the application development over eclipse.
1) Is it possible to customize line numbers, i.e. show some data instead of the line numbers? For example
Code:
123434 if (~x)
2) Is it possible to create more columns with data for the same line? For example
Code:
123432 7654567 if (~x)
Thanks
