Default Debugging in eclipse - source not found? - 01-23-2009, 08:58 AM

Hello, it seem's I have a problem with using eclipse. I am quite new to it as I mostly use MS Visual Studio. After only a few minutes I have run into a problem. I have implemented a LinkedList, and now I use it to implement a simple stack. It seems to work fine when not debugging, but if I use a breakpoint at any point that uses one of my custom defined classes it does not work. When "Stepping Into" the code executing anything that instantiate my own classes(it seems) I get a ClassNotFoundException, and it says "Source not found". However, if I simple press "Resume" and stop at a point further ahead, no problem arises. Is this a common problem?

The problem apparently lies with debugging and not really anything with my source files?

Also another question, haven't found a way to rename my projects, is this possible?

To rename a project, right click on it, Select Refactor -> Rename...

But as for the debugging issue, I'm not sure about - I'll take a look around and see if I can get something like it to happen for me.

Regards
James

Hey, thanks for the answer.

I don't know how development in Eclipse works, but I'm guessing that it is possible to upload my projekt and that you could import it, but would it procure the same results? How much behaviour in Eclipse depends on project settings and how much on actual program settings?

If you would be so kind to take a look at my project files I would be grateful. It is quite nice to work with, but without a working step-by-step debugger it's not feasible for me...
