Help!

I've got an odd problem using DZone. It seems as if I have two accounts even though I'm only using one user name - bthufnagel. If I log in from JavaLobby (User account | Javalobby) and click on the bthufnagel link (there is no blue bar at the top), I see the book reviews and JavaOne articles I've posted, but I that's it.

When I login from dzone.com (dzone.com - fresh links for developers) using the same user name and password, the "Your account" link takes me to DZone | Burkhardt Hufnagel and shows the items I voted up/down, items I've commented on, and an article I posted - but no book reviews or the JavaOne articles.

One more odd detail I just noticed when writing this up is that if I log into DZone and select the Book Zone, it looks like I've logged out; the upper right shows a hollow silhouette with a question mark inside and a link to login.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I was originally a book reviewer for JavaLobby member and got rolled into DZone when the two merged several years ago. I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like to see both sets of data when I log in. And while I'm wishing for ponies, is it possible to change my user name to "Burk Hufnagel"?

Hi Burk. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! You are absolutely correct that the integration between the two systems is not elegant or remotely optimal. We're actively working on a consolidated view that should correct these issues. Right now, the profile pages are pretty separate and the looks on the two sites are also pretty different. We hope to correct this.

You are also correct about not getting logged into Book Zone when you login at DZone. This isn't the way its supposed to function, and we'll look into it. Thanks for the report.

Finally, it is possible to change your username, but not common. You can also change how it displays your name. You can set your name, then tell DZone to show your name instead of your username. Would this work?
