I recently uninstalled an old version of the JRE and JDK, then attempted to install the current version of both. However, the installation failed with error message "Error 25099: Unzipping core files failed." The help page for the message indicates that this problem is usually the result of a failed uninstall that leaves jqs.exe (Java Quick Start) running. I checked Task Manager, but didn't see jqs.exe listed among the running processes. Has anyone run into this before? If so, how can I complete the new Java installation?

if you don't see jqs.exe in your task manager, just make sure that the java folder under c:/program files is deleted before trying to reinstall
