Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, general Java book for use in my office? It would be used for bringing new members up to speed on the language and reference so it would be good if it was an all rounder. I have something of the format of Wrox Professional C# in mind.

Effective Java

If they don't already know Java, send them on a decent training course.
If they are already Java programmers, I'd expect them to have a decent library of their own (though it never hurts to have a library in the office as well, it's a rare company that has one in my experience, usually it's personal books people bring in and sometimes forget to take away again when they leave).

Effective Java is a book every person calling himself a professional Java developer should read.
Anything else would depend on the specific technologies you use.
