You should try press shift and mouse - right click the Eclipse icon and run it as an administrator.

Hi, I am running Eclipse in Vista and I have not encountered the problem you are facing. As the previous responder alluded, it probably has something to do with security. Did what the poster suggested help?

In Vista I created a Vista Administrator account and I installed Eclipse 3.3. Prior to that, I had installed Java 1.6. If running as an administrator did not help, you may want to create a new acount reinstall Eclipse. Also, I would turn off UAC (User Account Control) in Vista. It is a bloody pain....

Thanks for your tips I will try them!! My solution however, was installing the JCreator instead and it worked perfectly... Do you know which are the advantages of Eclipse compared to JCreator?

Cheers!

Eclipse3.4 will have it's full version released tomorrow - I'm using one of the release candidates without problems on Vista. Eclipse has a lot more features than JCreator and really makes development easy. But I guess it depends on the size of the project you're working on.
