It nice to see that you're still willing to learn new languages and adopt new ideas. I know many professors who became stuck in the 80s / 90s and refuse willing to learn new things, which results in teaching stuff which isn't relevant any more or even false by now :-( (I'm studying Computer Science for about 3 years now).
