Monty has just announced the release of Maria, the new MySQL engine that is destined to replace InnoDB. His blog entry announcing the new engine also has an initial FAQ, so you'll probably want to scan it, at least.
How quickly, if ever, do you expect to start experimenting with this new Maria engine? What factors are important to you in the timing? |

Wow I've been out of it. I'll have to check the MySQL list to see if it's even anything I want to change, how buggy it is, etc. Isn't InnoDB like covered by some different license or something and that's why things are so awkward? Anyway I just came here to see what's here. Thanks for the new buzz word.
